‘Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.’ – Groucho Marx

Writing prompt: quick! hide!

You know that moment in every good spy movie when the bad guys are banging on the door and our hero has only moments to stash the top secret file/weapon/themselves before they’re caught? Imagine that’s you, right now!

Wherever you are, imagine you have only moments to hide yourself or something important. Are you in your bedroom? A classroom? A friend’s house? Where do you hide? Who’s banging on the door?!

See if you can capture the tension of the scene through your language, style and structure. Here’s a hint: short, sharp sentences tend to evoke a sense of pressure or panic.

Don’t forget to post your writing on your blog and paste the link in the comments below! Quickly!
