‘Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.’ – Groucho Marx

Writing prompt: food glorious food

Write a poem, short story or scene which revolves around a meal. It could be a shared holiday meal as a family, a stray dog stealing food from a bin, a prisoner’s last meal on death row, a quick fast-food meal eaten while driving, a baby bird’s first worm or a dinosaur hunting, catching and eating their prey. Who is eating? Why are the characters together, or alone? What do they think of the food? How does what they are eating make them feel?
