Writing prompt: ancient worlds

Does this guy look familiar? That’s Thor, Norse god of thunder. He’s just one of the fascinating characters from mythology that you can take your inspiration from in today’s prompt.

Many of our stories are based on ancient myths and legends from cultures all over the world. From Hinduism to Roman and Greek mythologies, there are traditional stories, gods and godesses aplenty.

Do some research on Egyptian, Greek, Hindu, Roman or Norse mythology and read about a myriad of fascinating characters and creatures. Choose one that excites you.

Take your ancient character and imagine them in today’s world. What would the modern version of them be like? Take Adonis and imagine him in modern Australia. Would he be a famous musician? A top sportsman? An every day student? Would people adore his beauty or find him arrogant and annoying?

Once you have written your story and published it on your blog remember to post the link here in the comments so we can all share and enjoy them.
