There are those certain stereotypical characters who you can find in a lot of books; the brave hero who once used to be loser, the heroine who always is caught in a dilemma, the best friend with perfect life who drifts away without any reason, etc.

And then there are the other characters; the ones who aren't afraid of standing out, the girls playing ukuleles in a tutus, the rich kids who mop floors at McDonalds,etc.

I think individuality in a character is important because all of us are different and how are we going to realise that if every single character about is the same?
