Inky's Friyay February 1
Hey you! Yeah you! Come over here!
A bit closer….
a bit closer…
a bit closer…
pinch and punch for the first of the month – no backsies and no returns! Gotcha!
So did you all manage to get back to school?
Maybe it was…
Or maybe it was…
Maybe you started at a new school? Are you going okay? Did you find your backpack buried under the beach stuff? Locate that pencil case? Still fit into your shoes? Well chillax! It’s the weekend now! Time to look around the Dog and get reading and writing….
For reading inspo we have a new listicle of epistolary novels (books written as letters, diaries, documents) and I have to give a special shout out to Feeling Sorry for Celia by Jaclyn Moriarty which I read this week and adored. Perhaps, like dottiq, you like reading graphic novels and manga? Well it’s no problemo! It’s great! And if you’re still looking for your next good read, then the American Library Association Young Adult Books award winners are a good place to look.
Speaking of awards…have you thought about the Inky’s? Otaku has and here are some predictions.
The 2018 Gold Inky Award winning novel was The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas and this week saw the national release of the movie. Have you seen it yet? Well? If not, why not? If so -how was it?
If you HAVE read a book lately, why not blog about it? Need some help? Guest blogger Danielle Cox has some handy pointers!
And… if you happen to be studying Macbeth this year (or even if you are not) you may find this very interesting – a handy guide to the Shakespeare’s Scottish play from Once.
Okay. Time to get serious. We all know that we don’t all feel okay all of the time. You might want to write about how you are going so Inky has a new handy new How To Write about Mental Health post here. Remember to stay safe, be responsible and be kind out there.
Don’t forget some upcoming book events for your diaries! Book launch for Alison Evans’ new #LoveOzYA novel Highway Bodies is at Carlton Readings this Wednesday, you can book for the YA Room’s awesome YA day here and don’t forget you are invited to OUR PARTY – The Dog’s Breakfast.
