Inky's Fri-Yay September 5

Hello! It’s Fri-yay…again!

This week there is so much news! First off – we did it! We announced the winners of the 2019 Inky Awards at State Library as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival. It was huge! Awesome! Wonderful! Were you there? Never fear – you can still watch it here.

In other Inky Awards news we have an interview with Silver Inky winner Holly Black!

The Inky Judges all met in Melbourne this week and between them they chaired eight Melbourne Writers Festival schools events. And the Awards Ceremony. It’s been a huge week! If this post makes no sense then you know why!

Around the place here you guys have been putting up lovely posts! First up, REVIEWS!

Over at Books I’m Reading, sekmet reviews Gold Inky Winning book Whisper, sylvs at NOVELty Reads tells us all about Lifelike, and forrestpuff tells us all why we should read Time Travelling With A Hamster (and I agree!).

And if that isn’t bookish enough for you…

then how about joining in our Lit Club Discussion of Catching Teller Crow?  Between the Pages Book Club has announced the September book is an LGBTQ+ favourite: Carry On! by Rainbow Rowell! Hands up who is excited about that?

But wait! There’s more! We have riddle-fever over at books books and more books and anime love and mind-blowing vocabulary at Word of the Day,  and HOORAY because forrestpuff has written some POETRY! Good wordy rhythmic poetry at that! You know how much I love poetry right?

And if that wasn’t enough to make you jump for joy this week we even PUPPY PHOTOS OF A REAL PUPPY!

A big brilliant week, with winners, announcements and all sorts of bookish wonderment! Looking forward to seeing what you come up with next week!

See ya!
