‘Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.’ – Groucho Marx

It’s the last day of spring, which can only mean one thing…

Well, yes, but also… NANOWRIMO is over for another year! I can almost hear the sound of millions of writers collapsing onto their beds in relieved exhaustion.

Congratulations to everyone who challenged themselves to write this November. Whether you wrote 50,000 words or 500, it’s always worth celebrating when you set goals and reach them.

And also when you don’t reach them.

What I’m saying is we should all just be celebrating our writing all the time, because writing is hard.

So let’s celebrate!

There are heaps of great book reviews flooding in from new users (welcome to the dog, everyone!) Here’s iwashere’s take on Paper Towns by John Green, and check out this review from lily if you’re looking for a new fantasy series to sink your teeth into.

Sylvs has posted a whole swathe of reviews which you can check out on their blog Throne of Shook. I especially loved the review of What if it’s us? by Becky Albertalli and Adam Silvera; it’s going straight to the top of my TBR pile!

If you’ve ever wondered how to write an amazing fight scene, wonder no more! chaos is here to give you all the tips and tricks that will have your readers white-knuckled on the edge of their seats.

Here on Inside a Dog, we love supporting our friends and sharing in everyone’s successes, so it’s great to see indiaaqua sharing her friend’s amazing artwork. Also, love the idea of IAD users collaborating on character/story illustrations. Anyone want us to set up an exchange? That would be amazing!

Happy weekend everyone! Bring on summer and keep on writing!
