Inky's Fri-yay May 17

Well hello! Here we are again, wrapping up the week like it’s a big Christmas present.

And oh what a week it’s been. “Has it Inky?” I hear you ask. “Oh yes it has,” I reply. The big news this week is that we got to meet our first Inky Judge, Juliette! What – you haven’t met her yet? What are you waiting for? Go and check out her amazing introduction video immediately!  Juliette! She’s from Queensland and is excellent at reading and ranting and making introduction videos. As you will see. So please say hi and welcome her.

The best thing about this week has been all the posting happening on the site. As always – WELCOME! – to the new bloggers in our community.

Wondering which Inky longlist book to read next? Well check out the reviews from the Inky Shadow Judges. Our Inky Shadow Judges are reading so much their eyes must be falling out of their head. Their reviews can be read over on The Inky Awards Blog.

From the Gold Inky Longlist, lightanddark has reviewed After the Lights Go Out,booklover has reviewed The Art of Taxidermy, bookhaven reviewed White Night wordofmaha has reviewed Ice Wolves – including a poem! – and isabellac has reviewed I Am Out With Lanterns.  Isabellac’s review was so glowing, I had to send it to the author Emily Gale who replied immediately, over the moon, saying that readers like this makes all the writing worthwhile! Go us!  From the Silver Inky Longlist, imosshelf reviews Children of Blood and Bone, booklover reviews The Astonishing Colour of After and bookhaven reviews I Was Born for This.  Okay so that’s a lot of books!

And then there is sylvs at NOVELty Reads who is like an Inky Shadow Judge fairy godmother and has posted six book reviews this week including some on the Inky longlist! Thanks sylvs! And now she has started Between the Pages Book Club! Check it out! Join in!

But it’s not all books. This week, Confessions of a Readerholic ponders a Marvel ethical dilema, some positive thinking from taytayrules, more installments from Oh My Disney, poetry from bookreader, a playlist from chelcyg, a horror story and of course, our wonderful daily vocabulary dose, Word of the Day!

Oh and some K-pop. We can’t forget the K-pop, hey sylvs.

Phew! What a week! Thanks for being here and making this place so wondrous! Keep reading, writing, singing, dancing and posting and I’ll see you on the other side!
