Inky's Fri-yay June 12
Well howdy-doody Blogdogs and Blinkys! We’ve made it through to another Fri-yay and may your Fri-yay be more Yay than Fri. For all the students who have been back at onsite schooling this week, just a reminder – WASH YOUR HANDS!
Great that we have got that out of the way!
As ever, I am vastly impressed with your wonderful minds and words. First of all, a big shout out to zitongreads who wrote a wonderful post about Black Lives Matter complete with reading suggestions and links to ways you can help. Racism is something we all must fight. As we know, this isn’t an issue isolated in one country and Australia is built on stolen land and a history of dispossessing our first nations people that continues daily in systemic racism. So to just add to zitongreads list, here is a list of ways you can help and support Aboriginal Lives Matter.
Best of all we know that reading creates empathy and that is something we can all do.
And for some bookish power, check out ellsbells’ favourite book quote post. Some absolute gems there! This post is so awesome and gives wonderful insight into each book and author!
In reviews this week, sylvs at NOVELty READS is an ambivalent fence sitter with The Goddess Twins and while our favourite bookworm imosshelf is out of the reading slump, their latest read, Snow, has left them a bit hazy. Anyone else read these books and want to weigh in?
And just when we needed some more chaos in our lives – wait that’s right we don’t! Thanks 2020! – alisaaa is back with how to avoid your English class 101.
And just because I know you are all brilliant, I have alerted you to the KYD School Writing Prize which opens in July and closes in September. Get your thinking caps on!
Well let’s hope the next week in 2020 doesn’t tick anymore boxes on the bingo card of crazy events but I’m just taking it all one day at a time!
