Inky's Fri-Yay July 26
Okay let’s get right into it. No time for fluffy introductions. I’m going to get straight to the point.
Ooops sorry. That was a just a silly distraction. (But still – baby tapir!)
The real point is that the 2019 Inky Awards Shortlist has been announced and voting is live! Have you voted yet? Not only do you get to take part in Australia’s only teen choice book award but you can also go in the running to win ALL TWENTY INKY LONGLIST BOOKS! Whoa! Imagine that! You’ll be reading like an Inky Judge!
So what are you waiting for? VOTE!
Do you like the Shortlist your Inky Judge representatives have come up with? They worked hard! Some would suggest they laid their lives on the line. Have you seen their blog posts taking over the website? Fred’s poem (which will be a rap) Zitong’s epic fantasy poem, Marlees’ recap, Krisha’s poem (inspired by ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas) and Catalina’s Comic. Stay tuned for more Judge action to come.
In other news…There are many YA events happening in the next month in Melbourne and the good news was announced that the #LoveOzYA community will continue doing good bookish YA work for Australian authors and readers. So much generous bookish love to warm our cockles. (What are cockles anyway?)
We also have a wonderful generous bookish community right here thanks to all of you! For a start this week we have been blessed with some brilliant reviews: Shadow Judge IsabellaC reviewed Gold Inky shortlist book A Thousand Perfect Notes and in fact it come to the attention of author C.G. Drews who tweeted this to us!
What warms my cockles though is that you show so many new and creative ways to review and recommend books. There is a new blog called Something Beginning With by eyespie gives us an intriguing and original way to talk about books – looking forward to the next post…beginning with d. We also have dogwithablog (know how you feel!) reviewing 2018 Silver Inky Winner The Hate U Give and snowqueen gives us 5 reasons why you should read The Giver Quartet and I, for one, am convinced. But it’s not just creative reviews. We also have creative writing. A fractured fairy tale by lozza, more fiction from mrshoe with Adrian – Chapter 1. Can’t wait for the next installment mrshoe! We also have alexbailey’s character analysis of The Evil Queen from Snow White over on Who REALLY Are The Antagonists Of Each Story??
AND if that’s not enough to fill you with joy then you light need lozza’s Positive Mindset Blog.
But really! Did I mention the baby tapir! Happy Fri-yay everyone. See you on the other side!
