Inky's Fri-yay January 24

Happy New Year! Year of the rat! Hope you are wishing and celebrating the Lunar New Year with optimism. I know I am looking forward to a ratty year. Hmmm. Not sure that came out right.

You may have noticed that this post is a little bit *ahem* late…oops! But better late than never. Around the site the blogdogs are Burning Through Books for a good cause. It doubles the benefit of helping the fire relief and also giving us book recommendations. And hey, it’s reading. Win, win, win! From sekhmet we have a review of The Folk of Air and Darkness series by Holly Black but be warned there be spoilers in it! (sorry don’t know why I suddenly started talking like a pirate). Sekhmet has reviewed another series, The Rosewood Chronicles. Go and have a look! Or I’ll make ye walk the plank. Was that too bossy?

Lit Club has a new discussion post from immoshelf so if you are in the Lit Club head over and add your comments! Lit Club will be wrapping up this week so get over there and join in while you can. And while we’re talking book clubs, our Libris Vermis Book Club gives us a wrap up of their latest read, The Key to Rondo. And for those who, like iris, want to connect with poetry, check out the latest post on Poets Alive about contemporary Vietnamese-American poet Ocean Vuong

Of course what would a week be without NOVELty Reads? Downright boring I would say. Thanks sylvs! Three reviews! You’ll be Only Mostly Devastated  to know that sylvs has been Tweet Cute in a Marshmallow Sky .

Winner of the giveaway last week is guppy! I will be in touch to send you a copy of The Fandom ! And the giveaway this week is the first book in a fantasy series, The Traitor’s Game by Jennifer A. Nielsen.

Simply comment below if you want to be in the giveaway!

Happy year or the rat too! My dad is a rat (thankfully not literally) but he calls me a rat instead.

How has everyone else been celebrating Chinese New Year? I went to the NGV International and enjoyed some good food and new years craft. For dinner we had homemade fortune cookies, stir fry and bubble tea!

We had bought fortune cookies and pork buns, spring rolls and stir fry. Oh and prawn crackers. Yum!

Yes! I work as a support worker and made them with my client and their siblings. The siblings wrote all sorts of funny fortunes about adventures and other crazy events.
