Inky's Fri-yay February 8

It’s Fri-yay! Time to wrap up the week and dust off the weekend TBR book stack.

But this week was not just any week. Happy Chinese New Year! Happy Year of the Pig! Wishing you all a prosperous 2019!

In Melbourne this weekend are two huge YA events. HUGE!

Saturday is YA day! (Hey that rhymes!) The Wheeler Centre has partnered with our friends at the YA room for a brilliant day jam packed with fifteen authors! Fifteen!

And then of course there’s OUR DAY! Sunday February 10 is our special day. Hope to see you all at our very own A Dog’s Breakfast!

Celebrating this here very website! Yes! This one! The one you are reading RIGHT NOW!  Your website, my website, the wonderful Inside a Dog that is bursting with bookish wonder, thanks to all of you who post and read and comment and make this place so great.

And speaking of a great website – let’s take a look around and see what’s happening.

Don’t forget that February 14 is not just about flowers and chocolates. It’s also Library Lovers’ Day so go give your heart to a library near you and show the love and share they love. There’s even a flash fiction competition over on the ALIA website.

Books. It’s all about books right? We read them. We stack them. We dust them. We trip over them. We carry them. We love them! Books are the best.

Lots of reviews have popped up this week so check out Throne of Shook blog where sylvs shares bookish thoughts. If you want a shortcut to a book well then The School Library blog is the place to be. This week we have A Handy Guide To: Fitzgerald’s “The Great Gatsby”

And speaking of classics…tuliparq tells us the wonders of Anna Karenina. Ah… Tolstoy….

Makes you want to travel to Russia right now? Well books give you wanderlust. That’s for sure. Just ask hermione!

So dogsters! Read well, dream well and don’t forget the party! Our special guests are Lili Wilkinson and Melissa Keil!
