‘Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.’ – Groucho Marx

Inky's Fri-yay December 6 (and GIVEAWAY!)

Winner of last week’s giveaway is SYLVS! Yay! You get the sneak peek at the new Adam Silvera novel Infinity Son.

State Library Victoria has been busy this week with the opening of our whizbang new spaces. If you are ever in the city, pop in and look around. There is 70% more seating and in the luxurious Ian Potter Queens Hall you will find a comprehensive Australian YA browsing collection. What an amazing place to hang out and immerse yourself in some LoveOzYA!

But here, in this space at State Library Victoria we call Inside a Dog, there has been a lot happening too. One Lit Club ended and a new one has begun. We had some final words about The Girl Who Fell  from bubbles which summed it up very nicely. Thanks bubbles. I am very much looking forward to hearing what you all have to say about the December book Everywhere, Everything, Everyone. If you are a Lit Club leader your book will be flying to you right now!

In the latest installment of Laura’s reading and writing adventures there is a review of Scars Like Wings, while Lozza is asking for advice on writing book reviews (and they are asking the right people!).

Like zitongbooks, amazing reader and Inky Judge.  Here is a round up of the books he read in November! And he has also written a review of Weapon by Lynette Noni. Bring on the differing opinions I say! That’s what we are here for.

Over at NOVELty Reads, sylvs has been left on a cliffhanger by Cassandra Clare and tanzeem puts our a harry potter blog challenge.and I am looking forward to seeing what comes of that! Yay! Love a challenge!

Do you know about the 2020 YA Showcase? On Tuesday December 10 will be our annual presentation from publishers about what is coming out in 2020! A sneak peek! It’s booked out BUT you can WATCH THE LIVE STREAM here on INSIDE A DOG!

There will be a link on the front page on Inside a Dog so everyone can watch from home.  The YA showcase will also feature not one, but TWO author panels, moderated by our wonderful Inky Shadow Judge and favourite bookworm, immoshelf. The authors on the first panel will be Cheree Peters, Ian Trevaskis and debut author Rawah Arja. On the second panel will be one of our favourite authors here at Inside a Dog, Will Kostakis with debut author Kay Kerr. Well worth a look!

Not one but TWO illustrated books this week.

The sumptuous And the Ocean Was Our Sky by Patrick Ness and illustrated by Rovina Cai

Cover of And the Ocean was our sky

Onibi: Diary of a Yokai Ghost Hunter by Atelier Sento.
