Inky's Fri-yay December 13 (and GIVEAWAY)

Well hello and welcome to another celebration of a week that flew past!

A whale rises up out of the ocean, waving a fin. Text underneath reads "whale hello there"

This week State Library Victoria held our annual YA Showcase where publishers present the most anticipated YA releases of the coming year. I know! It’s so exciting! There were even a few cover reveals! The event was sold out but you can watch it here on the website. While you are there you can also download the LIST to end all lists of all the 2020 releases and the powerpoint presentation so you can really peruse those covers. Get ready to add many titles to your TBR pile. I know I did.

We know you love reading and sharing- because that is why you are all here. And then in the Fri-yay I get to share all of your sharing. It’s a feel good cycle.

So first to the reviews. Over at laura’s reading and writing adventures are a review of the #loveozya twisty turny compelling novel Ballad for a Mad Girl  and thoughts on the Internationally renowned middle grade A Song for a Whale and also a review of Maybe a Fox.

Over at NOVELty READS sylvs learns she doesn’t know enough about American Football when reading Openly Straight and also tackles the International best selling Five Feet Apart in an insightful review. You people are so well read!

On Books I’m Reading sekhmet reviews and highly recommends the Gold Inky Longlisted The Art of Taxidermy while ebretreger shares thoughts on The Fifth Wave and suhani at Things I love to Read tells us about Seed, a thriller set in cult.

Speaking of thrillers – forrestpuff at Bookish gives a rave review (with SOUND EFFECTS) of the dystopian adventure novel (with gore violence and romance) The Secret Runner. Sounds AMAZING!

AND zitongbooks has written the first post for Lit Club! A review of Everywhere, Everything, Everyone.

Isn’t that a stuffed bag of bookish goodness?

And to top the week off, we had poetry. You all know how it warms my heart to have some verse on this site. And good poetry too! Thanks lauraamabel!

Now to announce the winner of last week’s Giveaway of TWO illustrated novels….the winner is….bookhaven! Congratulations!

This week’s giveaway is a copy of the #loveozya All That Impossible Space by Anna Morgan. Simply comment below by Thursday December 19 5pm.

Oh my goodness, I have been wanting to read "All That Impossible Space" for ages. By the number of book reviews I've had time to write, can you tell I'm on school holidays? Looking forward to a summer jam-packed full of reading!
