Inky's Fri-yay August 30
Fri-yay? Again? Already? How did that happen?
You know this week I missed International Dog Day which you might think is no big deal but, you know I AM A DOG! It was MY DAY! And I missed it. And you may say, “It’s okay Inky, we’ll celebrate International Dog Day next year.” Next year? You know that’s seven years for me, right? Don’t even try to tell me to be patient.
Things are getting exciting around here with the 2019 Inky Awards Ceremony just around the corner.
Are you coming? State Library Victoria 2.15 pm Wednesday September 4 as part of the Melbourne Writers Festival. Can’t make it but excited to find out the 2019 winners? Well we’ve got you covered! We’re live streaming the event RIGHT HERE on Inside a Dog. So we can all be together as we watch all eight Inky Judges present the Gold and Silver Inky Awards. They will be joined by Erin Gough and Lynette Noni!
Yes. We are all screaming internally and externally!
If that isn’t enough excitement for you then you obviously haven’t been reading all the posts on Inside a Dog. This week we kicked off our discussion questions for Catching Teller Crow over at Lit Club.
Remember – anyone can join in! The discussion at the moment is about the dual voices in the book. But there is also some wonderful creative responses coming in well worth checking out even if you haven’t read the book. The book is rich in themes and there is so much to discuss that the month will fly!
Word of the Day has wonderfully obscure words this week and is recommending the novel The Colour of Bee Larkham’s Murder (I’m listening to the audio book and loving it!), wants to know your favourite book with a yellow cover (mine is To Night Owl from Dogfish ) AND there is also a link to a face recognition quiz.
And while you are testing your eyes and brain, why not have a look at Guess What the Story Is Blog and comment about what you see?
We’ve got a book review at Confessions of a Readerholic and a book series re-imagined at NOVELty Reads and a graphic novel recommended at Ramblings of a Person and some beautiful poetry at Library101 and reflections of endings at A Rainy Day’s Cup of Tea.
We also have a shout out for Nevermoore fans for the opportunity to interview Jessica Townsend!
And finally, are you going to join us in the AusYaBloggers September Instagram Challenge?
Looking forward to a big week with our 2019 Inky Announcement! Also looking forward to your reviews, recommendations, re-imaginings, reflections and ramblings. HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!
