‘Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.’ – Groucho Marx

Inky's Fri-yay April 17

Well hello out there! Are you all coping with online school? Too much work? Not enough? Websites crashing? Too tired for work? Can be bothered? Snacking ALL DAY? Working from home is a bit lonely. I miss the beautiful State Library Building. Did you know you can go and have a virtual tour? And you can sign up to get a card and use our digital resources. There’s lots to help you with research and study so sign up! And while you are researching and exploring the catalogue you can imagine yourself in the Latrobe Reading Room!

Remember when we could go places? I would love a change of scenery from my house and the walking track –  but I’m grateful to have a house and a walking track close by. And a dog. I’m very glad to have a dog! Dogs are the best.

Did you all see the post about Australian Writers Centre Micro Fiction submissions? Just 19 words folks. That’s all they are asking. What do you think? Going to enter? And why don’t you let your teachers know about the documentary In My Blood it Runs – it will be free for schools to watch between April 30 and June 3 and comes with educational resources. Too easy! That’s at least two lessons sorted. Believe me, the teachers will love it!

And if you, like me, are keen on spinning a tale or two, sparkpenguin recommends trying out storybird website. And forestpuff is back (welcome back!) with not one but two posts: A review on the wonderful book Lenny’s Book of Everything which outlines why the book is so amazing (and it really is!) AND for all of the budding authors out there a wonderful quiz to help you build characters – created by none other than Marcel Proust with his friend Antoinette while they were teenagers. How is that for #teenstothefront? I like to imagine Marcel and Antoinette would be blinkys and blogdogs if they were teenagers today. In fact, someone needs to write a book about Antoinette and Marcel. Marcel goes on to be a famous writer – but what happens to Antoinette? Were they in love? Did they stay friends? I’ve got to know!

Over at NOVELty READS sylvs reviews the fantasy book A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab...but be warned….there are spoilers!  And sekhmet reviews I Know You Remember by Jennifer Donaldson...but be warned…it caused PLOT TWIST SHOCK!

Okay everyone. It’s over and out from me. Thanks for your wonderful posts and comments and likes. Read, write, be kind and remember to…
