Inky's Fri-Yay April 12
Well here we go again – a shout out to those of you who start school holidays TODAY! Yay! So it’s Fri-yay for me and for some of you it’s Fri-yay-yay! (It’s like Groundhog Day here at Inky Headquarters. Hmmm. Inky Headquarters….sounds very official doesn’t it? Like I’m a super hero or something!)
Our BIG SHOUT OUT this week is to bookwithbane for his brilliant interview with LoveOzYA author Tobias Madden. If you haven’t read it yet- what are you doing with your lives? Get over there and read it now. That’s an Inky order! From Inky Headquarters! The interview gives insight into becoming an author, getting published, the idea behind the anthology Underdog and the YA community – which includes us of course (yay!). Well done bookwithabane!
As always, this weeks posts have got something for everyone. We have a book inspired poem from Tantalizing Teens-Poetry. For all you budding poets check out the writing tips from unicornmel and all you budding authors check out some more character building from chelcyg . We also have another brilliant song list, this time it is favourite songs from the 60’s. Of course my favourite would have to be ‘Hound Dog’. Hee hee. But this place hasn’t gone to the dogs – we have cat idioms over at Word of the Day for all you cat loving cats.
And we welcome new blogs too. Check out Incognito Imaginings and *visible confusion*Good to see you all helping each other out. But here comes a warning…DON’T PUT YOURSELVES UNDER TOO MUCH PRESSURE TO BLOG! Over at Some Writing and Ranting, jayjay has ranted about why they haven’t been posting lately. And it got me thinking. Hey blog posting can be time consuming and confronting – I mean we are hitting the PUBLISH button right? And then open for comments? I mean…it’s terrifying! But you know we are all supportive here and your posts can be anything you like. Quick reviews, single words, pictures, song lists. Just have fun!
In book reviews we have long short, mini, maxi, minor, major. Our guest post mini-reviews from Emily Meade are going to be a weekly feature to inspire you all and grow that TBR pile even higher. Sylvs has gone all NOVELty now and has given us an in depth review of Silver Inky Longlisted book Children of Blood and Bone and congratulations to strangergrab for their FIRST REVIEW!
And last but not least, I’ll leave you with danicraneger’s blog post on friendships to give you a warm fuzzy start to the weekend. Have fun friends!
