‘Outside of a dog, a book is a man's best friend. Inside of a dog, it's too dark to read.’ – Groucho Marx

Inky's Fri-yay April 10

Well hello! It’s ‘Good Friday’ which means everything is shut…oh…hang on… everything is shut anyway. So I guess it’s just another Friday in isolation lockdown. Sigh. How are you all getting through it? There is of course the chocolate to look forward to. I’m sure you were all relieved to discover that Easter Bunny is an essential worker and permitted to cross the state borders. Phew! You know when I was a kid my older sisters convinced me it wasn’t an easter bunny at all, but an easter grub that borrowed through the ground and delivered eggs with the foil wrappers made like a silk worm makes silk. (Yes, I was a gullible child.) But bunny, bilby or grub, as long as there is chocolate all over the garden we are all happy, right? (Except if you are allergic to chocolate. Sorry. What a bummer. Which does remind me that when I was 8 years old I ate my mum’s dark chocolate easter egg and broke out in hives! Ha ha!)

Well enough of these embarrassing childhood reminisces! Let’s get with the present day. What day is it? Oh yeah. Fri-yay! (Maybe we need an Inky Post for everyday of the week just so we can keep track of what day it is! Monday’s Musings! Tuesday’s Choices! Wednesday’s Wonder! Thursday’s Throwback!)

So this week under the super full pink moon we had a flurry of wonderful posts from our regular contributors, newbies and returnees. Hooray! So lovely to hear from you all and to see how you are all sharing the bookish love.

I suggest you look around Pippa’s Questionables Book Opnionsto see shelfies, book hauls and reviews and wish them Happy Birthday while you are there. The incredibly well read and discerning sylvs at NOVELty Reads gives us not one, not two but FIVE book reviews! Spark Penguin returns with more Friday Barnes love (hooray!) and wolfgirl tells us why they love the Twilight series. Do I sense a Twilight revival? Laura’s Reading and Writing Adventures continue with a reivew of Pieces of Sky and sekhmet shares a review of feminist #metoo essays *trigger warning sexual assault over at Books I’m Reading.

BEST OF ALL WE HAVE A NEW READING CHALLENGE ON LITERATURE ISLAND!!! Thank you silene! Let’s all get on board with this! It will be fun!

Thanks everyone for being here and sharing your reading love around. I will be joining in the Reading Challenge too! Stay safe! Happy Easter! And KEEP READING!

Ooh is it good? I've always wanted to read/listen/watch it, but I have never gotten around to it cause I'm a bigggggg procrastinator .

I've listened to about 2hrs of it now, so far it's quite good.
I procrastinate too, I know how annoying it is to have a huge TBR list and just not be able to get to it for ages!!!

Cool! I might start reading it (sometime... maybe) I also have a large TBR list, or INPOR list (In The Process Of Reading) because I keep forgetting that I'm actually reading all these books and I then start a new one.
