Okay – you are getting the idea right? Another Fri-yay – another giveaway? Yep – you are all bright sparks! You catch on quick! Firstly though – the winner of last week’s Fri-yay Giveaway is sekhmet! CONGRATULATIONS! You win a copy of Impostors by Scott Westerfeld! Look out for the postman!
Now you will have to read until the end of the post to find out about the GIVEAWAY, okay? But don’t forget- if you’re in that book giveaway mood we do have an Arc of Scythe giveaway happening too! All three books in the series!!!! Did I mention – ALL. THREE. BOOKS.
But now! To the business at hand – the Fri-yay business. A wrap up of the wonderful happenings here in our own bookish world. And there is so much going on! You guys are posting brilliant content! I don’t know how to choose what to put here! It’s too hard! It’s wonderful! The best sort of problem an Inky could have! What do you want to look at first???
What was that? Book reviews, you say? Alrighty then! Here goes!
Our favourite bookworm imosshelf has reviewed Chrysalis, the final book in Brendan Reich’s The Project Nemesis series – Chrysalis and a review of the new release Girl With Sharp Sticks. Again imosshelf is claiming this is her new favourite book of the year! Yeah….we’ve heard that before haven’t we! But it does sound pretty *enthralling*!
Over on the A Room Without Books is Like a Body Without A Soul blog, sslll has reviewed “a very meaningful book” called A Long Walk to Water based on a real story about the civil war in Sudan.
Over at It’s a Book Book! phantom has reviewed the classic Misery by Stephen King and bookeida has reviewed adult literary novel The Silence of the Girls by Pat Barker which looks at the story of Troy from a female perspective.
Yellowbooks at BookLook has reviewed the thrilling Scandinavian Noir October is the Coldest Month. If it’s romance you are after then sylvs at NOVELty reads has got your back with the review of the anthology Meet Cute.and Library101 gives us some LoveOzYa with a review of Just Breathe by Andrew Daddo. I don’t know about you but my TBR pile just grew tripled!
In creative writing I encourage all of you to check out the amazing short fiction on Blood Bond by iris. Go on. I don’t mind if you go right now. It’s worth it! It’s hard to choose, but my favourite is Spark. Laura’s Reading and Writing Adventures continues to provide us with reading adventures. This week we have The Darkness Part One and Part Two. Part Two is a particularly lovely poem which I think would make a good song. We also have the beginning of something intriguing with Chapter One of Incarnate by callumortiem. Can’t wait for the next installment! And in poetry we have moving words from hufflebuddy in empathy for anyone feeling alone and down.
And in what I am calling general bookishness we have:
Reading with dogs (which I’m keen on – obviously, being an *ahem* dog!)
So! That should keep you busy! And give you lots of ideas!
Now for the GIVEAWAY!
Inspired by imosshelf’s love of Project Nemesis series we are giving away book two Genesis by Brendan Reichs.
Simply comment below by Thursday October 31st 5pm to be in the running. Winner will be announced in next week’s Fri-yay! Yay! Have a great weekend everyone!
