Loved this novel.  The main character is Kirra, 14 years old.  She lives with her alcoholic mother and has to deal with the fickle 'mean girls' at school.  Her surfer father can't fit her into his new life.  Kirra finds herself slipping in to the darkness of depression.

Then the story takes a twist, a mysterious phone call slowly changes Kirra's outlook on life.  She realizes there are people who care about her as a person.  School rebel, Willow and strong, caring Noah.
