The Hunger Games is a fantastic novel that I have recently finished reading.

In the place that once was north america, is the nation of Panem, with twelve districts and the capitol. Every year a boy and a girl between the ages of 12 and 18 are selected to compete in the anual Hunger Games, The Hunger Games was created after a rebelion that lead to district 13 being wipped out. the other citizens who are not competing in the games are forced to watch the death match and treat it as if they enjoyed watching it. the Games would go on until one lone victor remains standing and they are crowned the winner!

After I read the Hunger Games I realized that many people believe it is solely about violence and murder, this is not the case. whilst the Hunger Games is based around the idea of a televised death match, there is a much deeper and more complex story to it. Many characters and ideas are introduced along the way. Something I really loved about the Hunger Games was how you could see that the characters experiences really shaped their personality and they're stories made you look at things differently. i do not believe i can criticise this book as i found it absolutly fantastic! I would highly recommend it for people aged 12+, even younger, as long as they are confortable with the violence. The Hunger Games, for me, is an absolute must read.

The Hunger Games

‘The Hunger Games’ is set in a fictional world and the only city is panaem, a city made up of 12 districts and the capitol.in the book every year a boy and a girl (in between the ages of 12 and 18) are chosen randomly t the reaping to compete in the hunger games. The hunger games is an event when all of the chosen tributes are put into an arena to fight to the death, only one person survives out of the 24 that go in.

This book is easy to read and appeals to almost everyone as it includes action, drama, adventure, romance and comedy all in one (or the series) book. It appeals mostly to young adults.

The characters in the book defiantly seem real and are meant t, you are meant to almost feel as if you are there with them. The main character is Katniss Everdine, a sixteen year old girl who volunteered for her sister at the reaping, throughout the book you feel as if you are right there with her.

The book is most defiantly convincing and I see no holes in the plot. I read every page tirelessly and the details were so realistic you could almost hear every sound, the creak of a tree, the flowing of water the disturbing silence. You could see every little detail in your mind

I believe that this is a great book for anyone to read and that it should be read.

The hunger games by Suzanne Collins. The hunger games is a action and thriller type of book. It is an action and thriller because this book shows the violence of a futuristic societies entertainment. The book is set in a place called 'panem' which is a very rich City surrounded by twelve Districts. In this book there are different districts that a split up by the capital, and every year they hold a hunger game. They get a boy and a girl to represent there district, they get chosen anonymously out of a bowl and they get sent to train and learn to survive and win the hunger games. The main character is a sixteen year old girl named Katniss Everdeen steps forward to take her twelve year old sister's place Prim in the games after Prim's name is called forth to become the 23rd member to compete in The 74th Hunger Games, she volunteers knowing there is a more likely chance for prim to suffer a death sentence. And the other volunteer is Peeta. Peeta Mellark, the baker’s son, is a boy that Katniss owes a favour because of a kindness that he showed her when she was most desperate and her family’s survival was at stake. And Katniss knows that now her survival will mean his death. One of the reasons why i enjoyed the book was how the author added a different look on the futuristic community adding back stories towards the main characters and showing some problems that we are some times having to face. A very well known line that Effie Trinket says to Katniss and everyone "May the odds be ever in your favour," which basically means that there will be a chance for Katniss and Peeta to survive and win. Also a line that explains the game a lot is "Winning will make you famous. Losing means certain death." meaning there is a 50% chance that for you, but to win will make you famous and well known in your district compared to you facing death and having to never be remembered just like a game. I give this book a rating of 4/5, the author added a lot of details to the sentences which made it enjoyable to read and so much action that made you want to keep on reading it.

I love this book following an adventures storyline but also very dangerous. Entirely different from any other books ive read. Love is a main theme especially between the sisters. Protection is also a large theme everybody is fighting to win and live to the end. This book is perfect and unique.
