The hobbit Bilbo Baggins enjoys a quiet and contented life, with no desire to travel far from the comforts of home; then one day the wizard Gandalf and a band of dwarves arrive unexpectedly and enlist his services - as a burglar - on a dangerous expedition to raid the treasure-hoard of Smaug the dragon. Bilbo's life is never to be the same again.
This wonderful book is written by j.r.r Tolkien. is based around a wonderful place called Middle Earth which is very flesh out and presented small chunks between the Hobbit Lord of the Rrings 1, 2 and 3 and small books. I'm writing a book review on the Hobbit that is a story the is based on Bilbo Baggins a middle aged hobbit which is a kind of dwarf human creature that have massive feet.
The story's genres are exciting action and adventure also mythical. The charters are Bilbo Baggins, Gandalf, Thorin oakenshiled, Fili, Kili, Balin, Dwalin, Oin, Gloin, Dori, Nori, Ori, Bifur, Bofur, Bombur, Elrond Bard the Bowman, Beorn, Gollum, Smaug And Blog. The main plot of the story is that Gandalf Bilbo Baggins and the group of dwarves go and try to reclaim the misty mountains where Smaug lies. But on the journey they get caught by the trolls and almost die but Bilbo finds a ring off a small weird looking creature called Gollum. Bilbo go under the spell of the ring every time he puts it on but it grants him invisibility. After Elrond Bard the bowman kills Smaug once and for all. After the word spreads that the dragon is dead the battle of the five armies rolls out. The elves and the orcs come and try come to try to claim the mountain for them selves but the elves join forces to defeat the orcs and every one goes into peace in the end. J.R.R Tolkien wrote this book very well in the order all of the action. Story telling is placed out and all of the charters small story's are very powerful and makes you want to know more about them that very good authors craft in my opinion. What really moved me is that all of the dwarves had all the sad back story's and some very important charters die like at the start there are a lot of dwarves and at the end there is only a few. This book is probably aimed around primary's schools kids and some adults. I think this book meaning is that never give up what you fight for. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
very good read takes up alot of spare time
Hobbits are peculiar creatures and unfortunately they no longer walk this Earth, but once they did and this fantastic book revolves around one who is quite famous, Bilbo Baggins. He is drawn into a quest to reclaim a homeland along with 13 dwarves and a wizard. They encounter many things including goblins, elves, giant spiders (they freak me out). Other than reading the book, I only have one piece of advice which is, learn the names of the dwarves.
On that note, go and read that book!
The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien
The book the Hobbit, written by the author J.R.R Tolkien (John Ronald Reuel Tolkien), Is a book of the fantasy genre. He has written many books of the fantasy genre. He is considered the father of modern fantasy books. Another good series that he wrote was the lord of the rings series. “The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings series are grouped among the most popular books in the world, having sold tens of millions of copies”. As you can see he is a great fantasy writers of all time. The book the Hobbit is about a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins. He goes on an adventure with 12 dwarves. They fight many weird creatures. It is defiantly a book of the fantasy genre. The lord of the rings series the sequel to the hobbit series.
The main character of the story is Bilbo Baggins. He is just a regular hobbit. When one day a wizard asked him to come on an adventure. Eventually the dwarves and the wizard convince him to go. So that is when his adventure starts. Another main character is Thorin. He is the king of the dwarves. His involvement in this is that he needs someone to come with him and his dwarves to reclaim something of his grandfather’s and father’s. The reason this book is a fantasy is that the people in it are magical like the hobbit and wizard and many other creatures. And the setting and plot are very fantasy based. Overall i think this book is a great read and you should go read it know.
Bilbo Baggins is a creature which they like to be called a hobbit. They are about half our size and have very hairy feet. Bilbo is a very calm and relaxed fellow, but one day and old friend comes to visit his little hobbit hole and encourages him to go on an amazing adventure so that Bilbo could “see great mountains, and hear the pine-trees and the waterfalls, and explore the caves, and wear a sword instead of a walking-stick”. With thirteen other dwarves, the gang soon to find themselves in many sticky situations filled with dragons, orcs, goblins and treasure. The hobbit is a prequel to J.R.R Tolkien’s ‘The Lord of The Rings’. He is renowned for his amazing mind capable of creating whole worlds full of fantasy and wonder. The novel is one with many supernatural characters and magic powers. It is packed with loads of action, adventure, mystery, some comedy and a whole lot of fantastical components.
The novel has a very similar layout to its sequels but it is much easier to read and less complicated, it was very easy to understand which helped me connect better with the book unlike its sophisticated sequels. You can compare the series to “The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe” as it also has animals with human characteristics and that they both are filled with the element of adventure and mystery.
Overall I loved the book because as soon as you opened the book you had an expectation of a great adventure and as you read on you got an even greater feeling of adventure than you had expected in the first place. The novel is set in middle earth, a very open world filled with forests, mountains hills and castles. The book constantly opened new areas and explored them. I enjoyed the character development of Bilbo. At the start of the story, he was quite reluctant to go and very different to the rest of the gang and told Gandalf the wizard that “they chose the wrong person” but as the novel went on, Bilbo connected with the others and became more courageous and strong. Bilbo showed me that even though you are small, you can use your height as an advantage and be very courageous and also very good leader
The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien. Prequel to Lord of the Rings and provides valuable knowledge about Lord of the Rings.
The story starts really interesting but starts to get boring but, once Bilbo 'finds' the ring and it all gets better from there.
There really isn't too much to say other than that it's a great book and that you really, really, really, really, REALLY need to read it.
