When I first heard about the Harry Potter books I was reluctant not to read them. I had never been a fan of the whole 'magic' and 'fantasy' idea. But when I was finally convinced by my mum to give the first one a try (Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone) , I couldn't put the book down!

Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone is a fantastic book. Harry Potter is a young boy who lives with his horrible Aunt, Uncle, and Cousin, due to his parents death when he was a baby. He knows nothing of his past and believes that his parents died in a car crash, resulting a scar on Harrys forehead. Yet is Harry to realise he had been believing a complete lie his entire life.

As J.K.Rowling takes us on a journey through a beautiful story of magic, we find a true sort of magic in the book itself. The way it has been written the book is hard to not love. A brilliant book with a touching story, anyone could read this age 9-99. A truly magical story.

This book is interesting. It is about a boy called Harry Potter. He lives with his aunt and uncle that force him to live in a cuborad under the stairs. But one day the gets ONE letter, and the letter gives him a chance to go to a school far far away. His mum and dad went to the same school before they died in a car crash. There is a bully at school called Draco Malfoy. But there is a man that tries to kill him called You-Know-Who...

Will Harry Potter overcome You-Know-Who

I Like this book becuase it has alot of mystery and suspense. It is an entertaining book and I want to keep reading the book.

I read this book for the first time when I was 8 years old. Since, I have read the entire series, and I'm halfway through reading it for the second time. If you have started reading and didn't enjoy it, I promise you it will change your life in more ways then one. It has the most indepth and thought out characters of any books I've ever read, the most true and meaningful morals and the best friendships and relationships you'll ever come across. I wish I could go back a reread the whole series and not know how it ends, just so I can experience it all over again.

If you are not all that keen on books then at least watch the amazing movie adaptions and get lost in the world and the story.

You will enjoy it.

I have to admit, I wasn't sure about this book, I was expecting magic and madness from the get-go almost to the point where I gave up on the book. But let me tell you, the magic (as I've now discovered) is in J.K. Rowling's beautiful and imagnative writing. It genuinely is a pleasure to read, and I am sure my children and my children's children will enjoy this classic. From the well-structured characters, to the imagery of all the wonderful settings, this book will get you hooked in the first pages.
