Wonder

Author: Raquel J. Palacio

Image result for wonder the book

Genre: Fiction

Age: I think ages 10-16 because they need to be old enough to understand this story.

This is a sad book, but it is a good and heart touching story. August is only 10. He never gives in, he just soldiers on.

I particularly liked this book because it’s so interesting and I always want to keep reading. It is very detailed and always has lots of reasons to back up an argument. August is the main character, and by far is my favourite! He is just a boy that worries about what he looks like but tries his hardest to not let it get to him. My favourite part is when boys are laughing at August, but August just ignored him plus showed the other students ‘who’s boss!’ I am always wondering what is going to happen next, I just can never predict the future of this book. I would definitely read this book again. I was about to cry, but I held it in. I think that the start has a fabulous meaning and it shows courage. Overall I thought is was a well written book and I would read it anyday!

I give this book a rating of five stars!

Genre: Romance, Adventure, Fiction

For: Girls age 10-12

This book is about a girl called Phoebe who is invited to go to the coolest party of the year with her best friends, Annabel and Kimmi. But, on the same day as the party, Phoebe was going to help with a movie night that is helping raise money for orangutans. She really wants to go to the party and the movie night, but she can only go to one of them. She couldn’t decide which one to go to. In this book, you get to choose which path Phoebe takes. I think it is really fun to choose your own path because you don’t get bored having to read parts of the book that you don’t want to. I would rate this book a 4 out of 5.

Katherine Rundall

I started this book and have nearly finished it. I love it so much that I read it 15 minutes every single night sometimes I read it on the bus or at school.  Rooftoppers is an adventurous , bubbly and exciting story.

This book is about a girl who is left on a ship as a baby, she gets saved by a man called Charles that helps her and treats her like one of his own. They run away from the protesters that are trying to stop the girl from living with Charles. They run all the way to Paris and the girl meets a boy that walks tightropes and jumps rooftops.

I would recommend this book to 10 - 15 year olds

This book is definitely 5 stars.

Title: Gangsta Granny

Author: David Walliams

Illustrator: Tony Ross

Genre: Mystery, Hilarious & Adventure

For: Girls or Boys 8-12

The hilarious NUMBER ONE bestseller by David Walliams, Gangsta Granny is a novel about Ben and his Granny. Granny is very much your textbook granny because she has white hair, she has false teeth, she has used tissues tucked up her sleeve and ……….. she is an international jewel thief.

What I liked most about the book was that is was so mysterious and it made you just feel like you just wanted to keep reading and reading until you found out the mystery.

My favourite character was Granny because I find it hilarious that a textbook Granny could be an international jewel thief and also she is really funny.

David Walliams makes it really descriptive in the story so he makes the characters feel real to you and it’s really interesting and when the story has descriptive language it makes more sense and you can really get the picture in your mind.

I completely love this book and I wish I knew all of my life that it was made and I am keeping it forever and making sure that everyone has a chance to read a fantastic read from David Walliams.

I certainly think that you should start reading it and I bet you 100% that you will love it and you will think that it hilarious and all and maybe read some other good reads by David Walliams!

Book reviewthe land of stories the wishing spell

Title: The land of stories The wishing spell.

Author: Chris Colfer

Genre: Fantasy and adventure.

For: 10-14

The land of stories is a book about to twins called Alex and Conner who get given a book that allows them to travel into the land of stories which includes: Cinderella, Sleeping beauty, Snow White, The little Mermaid and little Red riding hood and so many more characters. The only way they can get back home is if the use the wishing spell. The wishing spell is made of 8 items like Cinderella’s glass slipper, Little red riding hoods basket, A lock of rapunzel's hair and more. There is 6 books in the series and with only reading one a was sitting on the edge of my site and could not wait for more.. My favorite character would have to be Connor because he is really funny and when he is in a bad situation he makes a joke about but he also sticks up for his sister and is not afraid of anything. I could really connect to the book and I felt like the characters were real. The story kept me guessing on every word and I could hardly put it down. My favourite part of the book would be when Conner and Alex meet the Evil Queen. The story really connected to your emotions. The book made me laugh. Their was not one thing in the book the thing  I disliked and it kept me Intrigued the whole time. I rate this book 5/5. I would recommend it any day.

This book is so good I have no idea where to start. The main characters are a boy, an old granny and the boys mum and dad. It's about a boy who has an interesting dream but his mum and dad wants him to be a dancer, he always goes to his granny on a friday and one night he finds out he’s granny is a GANGSTA! This book is extremely funny book because it is written by a comedian. This book may be funny but it is also sad at the end there’s a big twist that is unexpected.

Title: Girl Online

Author: Zoella (Zoe Sugg)

Genre: Teen Fiction

For: Girls and Boys aged 11-24

Girl Online is about a girl named Penny.  She is going through an awkward teenage stage. She has a crush on a boy who she is trying to look good in front of. She has to go to America for her mum's work  and meets someone that will change her perspective of things. I love this book because it was different from other books, and also because personally this is my type of book, that I  loved to read in my spare time. Girl Online is a great book that has surprised me in different ways and the plot line is different from my idea,  which is a good thing because it was unexpected. Of course I never knew that Noah would be the way he is , she really feel into his trap.  I had a lot of different ideas about Penny’s secret but not this one. I recommended Girl Online to all. Girl Online is a great book.

Etiquette & Espionage

Etiquette & Espionage is a steampunk, Harry Potter type of book,

Sophronia is a troublesome tennager, who likes to mess with dumb waiters and play tricks on VERY important people, so when sophronia mum sends her to a finishing school it's not what she expected, with lessons of how to dance to how to poison a man through his drink, so when she finds her new pet bumbersnoot it all makes sense.

With the prototype missing and monique (the fake headmistress) last to have it, Sophronia has suspicions for Monique, But when Sophronia finds the headmistress doesn’t know about the prototype she gets 2 questions,

Why doesn’t the headmistress know about the prototype?

What does the prototype do?

I give this book a 4 stars

( probably because the ending is horrible)

This is the amazing story of Karana, a 12 year old girl who is on an island all on her own with her animal friends including her wild dog, 2 birds and an otter. It is based on a true story and is written in 1st person. She must share this small island with all animals kind or mean, and fight with some to keep alive. My favorite part is when she catches and tames her wild dog. Anyones who loves animals will love this book. You can read this book several times and it still will never get boring. This is by far my favorite book and you never know what is coming next. You just want to keep reading!

File 32872Title: Raven’s Mountain

Author: Wendy Orr

Genre: fiction/adventure

For: 9-12 year old girls

Stars: ****

Can a girl shatter a mountain? That’s what Raven thinks, when she finds herself and her most loved possessions are lost and in dire danger and all in a day.

This book felt so real for me that it was a relief when I could step back into my own world and away from the excitement and fear of Raven’s world. The story is so much more that it seems when you look at the cover and would surprise anyone (even after you have read it more that once).

You can’t stop turning the pages in this book, there are no letdowns and more importantly no boring parts, it keeps you captivated until the last page.

I would recommend this book to everyone, especially if you like books that make you laugh and cry. Even if you don’t read adventure much you would still enjoy this book.

Ruby Redfort

Take your last breath

By Lauren Child

Genre: Non-Fiction/mystery

Age: 10-14 because it has some strong that you need to be able to understand to know what is happening in the book.

 What is the book about?

This book is about a typical 13 year old girl called Ruby, she is classified a genius. She is so smart that she has been recruited to be part of a secret spy agency spectrum. Ruby goes to dive camp, “don’t worry about the sharks” the dive instructor says “they won’t eat you far too small.” But when she has a mission to find out the weird things going on in the water she come face to face with a shark.

What I like the book is that it is a mystery and it is really clear on what is happening in the story. My favourite character is Clancy Crew Ruby’s best friend the way that he is described is so funny, and it feels real like he is a real person. The story made me guess what was going to happen in the book as I turn the page. My favorite part of the book is when they are at the swimathon because Clancy is so scared that a shark is going to come up behind him and by the end of that day they hear on the news that there was 5 tiger sharks on the bay. There is nothing that I didn’t like I haven’t finished the book so there is nothing to dislike about it.
