(Need a text version of the longlist? Here's one!)

Congratulations to all the longlisted authors, and thank you to the many teens who shared their thoughts.

How many of the longlisted books have you read? Do you already have a favourite?

And the biggest question of all: who wants to judge these 20 books, and select which 10 will make the shortlist? If you've got a keen eye and a strong voice, I want YOU to apply to be an Inky Awards Judge. Details on how to apply will be posted here on the site tomorrow!

Great list again SLV.  Inky has very good taste!  I have missed a few of these titles, but now look forward to some great YA reading.  I loved/hated We were liars, and can't wait to read the Westerfield title.  I also really liked the Protected Zorn title.  Keep up the great work SLV.  Leonie Dyason.

Squeee! Guess whose reading list for the next few months is decided? Although the 2013 longlist still remains the best *ahem* there are some pretty awesome titles up here. I feel like I've done pretty well to have read seven of the ones up there - The Incredible Adventures of Cinnamon Girl (totally bizarre story but at the same time awesome), Razorhurst (loved and need to reread), The Intern (so, so much fun), Spark (which I'm rereading right now, actually. Another brilliant book), We Were Liars (which I enjoyed, even if I did later realise that the twist was eerily similar to that of my drama ensemble performance), Since You've Been Gone (which I first read when I was sick one day, and it was just perfect to curl up with anf be cheered up) and Afterworlds (such beautiful satire, can't go past Scott Westerfeld for an awesome book).

Hopefully this will be ale to shake me out of my book slump. *is excited*

Just found this! Great list! Love Clariel by Garth Nix, and Half Bad by Sally Green...Half Bad is also on the longlist for our book awards (The Red Book Award in Falkirk) here in Scotland! Hope I can find the other Aussie writers published over here!

Ah, I love hearing what your favourites are :) And even better to hear of many more going on the to-read pile!

@zoidberg-cool - the Gold vs Silver is about the nationality of the author (Australian or overseas). Although Justine and Scott live in both Australia and the U.S., Justine is Australian-born and Scott is from the U.S.

Oooh yay! Let's see, I've read Spark (TOTALLY AWESOME BOOK OMG!!!!) and I've read Fangirl. (very relatable, seeing as I love fandoms and the fandom community, alas I am not in college)

And out of those I have to say I liked Spark more...but then again I haven't read the others....

Afterworlds is definitely the best, surely it wins the silver inky!!! but isn't "silver inky" meant for overseas authors and "gold inky" is for australians, or did that change??? why is justine's book in gold, and scott's in silver? odd.

or is it the setting, like where the book is set: australia or overseas. that makes sense.

I've only read two (Fangirl which I loved, and We Were Liars which I really disliked) but there are a lot of books on here that I really want to read, especially Razorhurst and Noggin. :)
