Jandy Nelson’s first YA novel, The Sky Is Everywhere, was published by Dial Books in March 2010. It quickly became one of the most critically acclaimed young adult novels of the year – among its credits are a PW Flying Start, a YALSA Best Fiction for Young Adults, and the designation by NPR as one of the five best YA books of the year, as well as numerous other best of the year lists. The Sky Is Everywhere has been licensed in 27 countries and is under option to Warner Bros. for a feature film.
Her New York Times bestselling second novel, I’ll Give You the Sun was published in 2014 to even more fanfare both in the US and abroad, receiving coveted awards including the 2015 Michael L. Printz Award, Bank Street’s Josette Frank Award, and a Stonewall Honor, as well as appearing on multiple best of the year lists such as The New York Times, Time magazine, and NPR. I’ll Give You the Sun has been licensed in 33 countries.
Jandy, a literary agent for many years, received a BA from Cornell University and MFAs in poetry and children’s writing from Brown University and Vermont College of Fine Arts. Currently a full-time writer, she lives and writes in San Francisco, California – not far from the settings of her novels.
