2020 Kill Your Darlings School Writing Prize

After being delayed because of COVID 19,  Kill Your Darlings  journal has announced the dates for the 2020 School Writing Prize!

Entries open: 13 July
Entries close: 4 September

The KYD School Writing Prize gives a voice to young people writing about the issues that concern them. We’re seeking entries of up to 1500 words in either fiction and non-fiction, with students responding to a current social or political issue. The winner will receive a $500 cash prize, editorial support and publication in KYD.

This year the judges are writer, editor and critic Alan Vaarwerk and award winning author Alice Pung.

For more information about how the competition works, and to get your school involved, head to the KYD School Writing Prize Page where there are even links to previous winners.

With so many blogdogs and blinkys being brilliant writers, I hope you consider entering! Good luck!
