2020 CBCA Shortlist

Well in these strange times of cancellations and postponements, it’s good that some things we have come to rely upon each year do keep going – if a little differently. The Children’s Book Council of Australia announced the 2020 Book of the Year Shortlists. This year, instead of a live event there was a recorded announcement. Congratulations to all authors, illustrators and publishers.
For Inside a dog readers, here is the shortlist for Book of the Year in the Older Reader Category.

What a bunch of terrific books. Makes you realise that LoveOzYA is thriving! Which have you read? What do you think?
And you can watch the full Shortlist announcement on Youtube  which includes some appearances by many beloved Australian children’s authors.

I’ve only read Four Dead Queens but the others look so good as well!

This Is How We Change the Ending is also on the Stella Prize shortlist which is wild for a YA book. All of them look amazing.

I don't know if I've heard of ANY of those, but the cover design is great so I think I will have to look into them a bit more!
