Mashup novels are a growing genre, They have had a new popularity beginning a few years ago with the release of Pride and Prejudice and Zombies, but the genre goes back much further than that, with a 1969 novel featuring Sherlock Holmes fighting HG Wells’ Martians being an early prominent example:
