Sam is sixteen, and at war with his own body, fighting an incurable illness that gives him only months to live. Time has suddenly become very important to him as he now has so little left. Sixteen year old Sam should be living life to its fullest but cannot anymore. When he falls ill at school everyone thinks it must just be passing but when he is diagnosed with Spengler's syndrome he moves away with his mother. Nearly a hundred years before another Same is fighting in a war on the Western Front. Linking the two is Marion. Is Marion just a figment of Sams imagination caused by his medication or something more extraordinary?
This is a great book and is truley wonderful.
