limbing to the top of the social ladder is hard – falling from it is even harder. Regina Afton used to be a member of the Fearsome Fivesome. And just like the other members of this all-girl clique, she was both feared and revered by the students of Hallowell High... That is until vicious rumours about her and her best friend's boyfriend start going around. Now she's been "frozen out" and her ex-friends are out for revenge.

If Regina was guilty, it would be one thing, but the rumours are far from the terrifying truth, and the bullying is getting more intense by the day. Out of desperation, she takes solace in the companionship of Michael Hayden, a misfit with a tragic past who she herself used to bully. Friendship – and eventually romance – doesn't come easily for these one-time enemies, and as Regina makes amends for her past, a bond begins to form, while threats from the Fearsome Foursome are poised to break them both.

o_o I would never, ever, nevernevernever, ever have considered picking it up and reading it, but now I'm glad it was put in my hands... thank you, Adele x)

I can't really explain it. Lots of angstyness, teenage stupidity, and absolutely frustrating characters. I mean, I'm pretty sure I wanted to beat all of them on the head with my maths book at some point...

... but still. There was something so honest about it. So scarily honest, to a sickening and sad point. I appreciate the ending, the complications of everyone's character, and the way it was all written 'in the moment', if that makes sense. It was a compelling insight, I just... loved it.

Just a warning: it has plenty of coarse language, and... the drugs... and the alcohol.... fun. Young readers beware!

some girls are

A novel written by Courtney Summers

"Climbing to the top of the social ladder is hard - falling from it is even harder"
Regina Afton was apart of the fearsome fivesome untill incidents happened and everything went down hill, from then it was the fearsome foursome and Regina was completely out of the picture. To be bullied, rejected and hurt physically and mentally would be one of the hardest things to go through and for Regina, she went through this and so much more. This book goes into detail about situations that you don't usually hear or speak about. It gets you thinking about your own life and teaches you life lessons that you should always be aware of, to prepare you for the worst.

This book has given myself and hopefully others who read it an insight into life of when things can really go wrong.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and advise that others give it a go aswell.
