The Seven Ancient Wonders

The epic adventure book that you just can’t put down, about a young Australian man named Jack West, who teams up with an elite team of soldiers from around the world to stop America or Europe from gaining absolute power of the world.

The plot of the story is that every few thousand year a sun spot rotates to face earth and it makes the sun heat a lot stronger and it is causing global warming. It is survivable but lots of people will die. However there is a way to stop it by collecting all of the ancient wonders of the world and taking the capstone off each and on the day that the sun spot faces earth you must assemble the pieces together with some soil from your homeland and sacrifice the son or daughter of the oracle.

Whoevers countries soil is there will gain absolute power for 2 thousand years. This book however has 1 minor setback, which is the use of pointless swearing. This book is an action packed page turner which can’t put down. Out of 10 I would give it 9 and a half.

This book is the first of the Jack West Trilogy. 4500 years ago, there was a capstone upon the summit of The Great Pyramid of Giza that absorbed the energy released by the Tartarus Rotation- which is a monstrous sunspot that occurs every 4000-4500 years. The capstone was later divided up by Alexander the Great, each piece within one of the Seven Wonders of the World. They are full of booby traps. If the pieces of the capstone are reunited and put on the capstone, they can bring 1000 years of peace and power for the nation which represents them.

In 2006, this sunspot is due again, and there are three teams wanting to reunite the pieces of the capstone. There is one from Europe, which is representing the Catholic Church, the CIEF, and an alliance group of smaller nations. Jack West Jr. is the leader of that alliance of small nations. The other two teams are doing it for their own gain.

Together, West and his team embark on an almost impossible adventure- to race against the other two countries, and to stop them from gaining 1000 years of power.

This intense quest involves complex maps and codes, an impracticable deadline and booby traps with a climax that leaves the reader wilting. Reilly also provides innovative descriptions of violent deaths, exotic settings and an exhaustive inventory of high-tech weaponry.

It is unmistakable that Matthew Reilly loves conspiracy theories. This story shows his action packed mind, and how fearless and brave his characters can be. And for the first time, Reilly has an Australian hero!!

To those who enjoy reading Dan Brown, especially The Da Vinci Code-this is a must. It has an intense storyline, which leaves you guessing to the end what happens. This is a story about trust and care for a little girl, packed full of traps and action. It is recommended for mature readers, as there are some scenes that might frighten younger audiences.

WARNING: Once you start reading this book, you will not put it down. This is not his best book, but it is a good one, his books get even better than this one!!

A compelling action/fantasy created by one of Australia's best authors. Matthew Reilly has created an intense ride in Seven Ancient Wonders. The plot is fast paced and you can soon become lost into this great book. Reilly has continued his tradition of thrilling action books and should be commended. Not for everyone, though, as I would recommend this book to thirteens and above. However, those who do read it will become immersed in the way that Reilly has interwoven fact and fiction into his novel. There was actually a golden capstone that once resided upon the Great Pyramid and it's vanishing has puzzled historians over the years. This is where Reilly's fiction comes in, creating an insane ride that will have you hooked from the first paragraph. Filled with historic places and interesting characters, Seven Ancient Wonders will keep you guessing till the very last page.
