Rangers apprentice was quite a slow series i found Ruins of gorlan was fantastic! But by the icebound land it had turned dry and i was impatient for some great enthusiasm for me to start and enjoy the series, but that just didn't work for me.

Great start in the series but afterwards it turned dull.

At first, I was hesitant as to whether I should read it. Then, once I started reading, I found myself keen to read to next book. It's a captivating novel about a young boy fighting for what he believed in, and how he got there. Every step of the way presented new mysteries and challenges for the boy. I really loved it.

PS: Please don't think it's a 'boys only' book. It's fantastic.

The first book of the RA series (and probably the best of them all), the ruins of Gorlan, is a fantasic book filled with excitment, adventure, wit and sorrowful adventures of a youth called Will. Will, a particulary short and lightly built boy, is ready to be apprenticed of one of the craftmasters, his hope, is to be accepted by Sir Rodney, the battle school master, but when the day comes, things don't turn out quite right when the Ranger Halt, rumoured of using black magic, comes into the matter.
