Can the lost be reclaimed? What price is too high to pay for love? Who can be trusted when sin and salvation collide? Love. Blood. Betrayal. Revenge. Darkness threatens to claim the Shadowhunters in the harrowing fifth book of the Mortal Instruments series.
An amazing series but should have stopped at book three. Though the other two are great it just became a bit bizzare.

Oh I am so glad I found this in the review section!! This book could possibly be the best in Cassandra Clares series of Mortal Instuments. I love it and although I won't spoil too much I am in love with Jace and Clary's romance and how they will sacrifice everything for love. Not only does this book have twists and turns for them both but we follow all the characters and their love lives (One in particular i am most excited about! It's so cute but will NOT spoil!) Magnus and Alec are finaly coming into their gay relationship and it is so incredibly sweet, it almost brought tears to my eyes. It's wierd being happy for make believe characters! I could ramble on and on for ages about what makes this book so excellent but I will let you read it for yourself. Enjoy!
Ok, so YES the other Cassandra Clare books have lived up to expectations, but does this one? Ummm...I would say NOT. I couldn't even get past the first chapter without being bored to death. The story droans on and on about Clary "omg where is jace, oh they've called off the search for him, jace, jace, oh i saw jace but maybe it was in a dream OMG no it wasn't in a dream, oh jace is evil, but i still love him what do i do?" Its painful to read so no more complaining, just a factual conclusion. If you have read the rest of the series and could not possibly bear the thought of not reading this one then just borrow it from the library, because if you buy it you'll wonder where your $25 went and why. Buy 10 packs of gum instead. Seriously.
This was really good. You should read it, if you haven't already. You should also read the first four books, again if you haven't already.
And now the wait for City of Heavenly Fire begins.... -sigh-
When I read this book I had high expectations and when I read 'City of Lost Souls' it ticked all the boxes.
The things that were happening were crazy and insane and if you read between the lines, I think you get some clue of what will happen in 'Clockwork Princess'.
