Sara Crewe is sitting in the lap of luxury: a French maid. the best room, and being the show pupil at Miss Minchin's Select Seminary for Young Ladies, when her father dies, leaving her penniless and alone.
Will Sarah give in to the long hours of toil or will she, aided by her wonderful world of make-believe, be the princess she really is?
A Little Princess is a novel about a young girl named Sara Crewe. She lived with her father until he had to attend war, her father left her to stay at the Miss Minchins boarding school in London. Sara is a very wealthy girl, she had all the clothes and toys in one room just for her. Some of the girls in school would get jealous of her because she was wealthy, smart and very generous to the people that were nice to her. Until a tragic accidet had happened to her father. She had no one to pay her to stay at the boarding school, so she was sent into the attic to stay in there. She wasnt aloud to attend the classes at the boarding school. Instead she was forced to clean up the school and do chores. She wasnt aloud to wear her pretty dresses and she was forced to wear scraggy clothing. Until towards the end of the book something really good for Sara happens.
Frances Hodgon Burnett author of A little Princess writing style is very effective in a graceful way. She explains things in a simple way. This book had nothing negative about. I really enjoyed the book, simple classic book. It was a sad book of times but mostly it makes you feel thankful nad happy. The character Sara Crewe is a very strong character, her attidude changes yours. I really recomend people of any age to read this book especially if you want to look up to someone, like Sara Crewe.
A little princess is a very enjoyable and deep book. It's filled with wonder and imagination from such a small little girl and how she survives her story.
