“There are no friends on the track”
Hover Car Racer by Matthew Reilly published by Pan Macmillan Australia Pty Limited in 2004 is about two young boys called Jason and Bug Chaser. Set in the future Hover Car Racer follows Jason and Bug’s journey as they try against all odds to get to the pro circuit. When they win an invitation to an exclusive Race School it seems their dream might just come true. However, it soon becomes clear that someone wants them out of race school, permanently and suddenly winning the race isn’t the only thing Jason and Bug are fighting for. And when the guy you’ve got to beat to get to one of the most important races in the league has literally no flaws at all, is the best racer in the school and to top it all off is a prince what’s a hover car racer to do? I recommend this book to people of all ages but primarily from ages 9 and up. Hover Car Racer is a genuinely moving story that will keep you completely enthralled with moments that will make you smile laugh and cry. Hover Car Racer consists on two main characters being Jason Chaser the young gun hover car racer, and Jasons younger brother the Bug also Jasons awesome navigator.
Jason has been selected to be apart of the race school as he was in the top five racers in the school for the school cup and Jason and one other racer that goes by the name Xonora Xavier. Both of the young racers got the chance to race against the real profesinal hover car racers. In the end Jason was almost in the lead but the dirty french racer made him crash and JIason went to hospital.
Later on in the year Jason got to race in the New York Cup witch is the biggest race of the year in hover car racing. The cup had five different races and if you finished in the bottom four you were kicked out of the cup. The racer at the end of the cup the racer with the most cup points win the New York Cup.
I guess you will have to read the book if you want to know who wins!! really is a great book though!

this was one of the most exciting books i've ever read.
this time reilly really ran away with his imagination. race cars flying, this can't be but yes it can be. jason is a boy who owns one of these one-of-a-kind and dreams of going into the finals. eventually he makes it in. will he win, well read it to find out.
i reckon it would be a 9-14. also this book never gets old so you can read it in ten months and still love it!

Hover Car Racer is a story of two young australian boys who's dreams are to be in the pro circut then when they get the oppertunity to go to the racing school in hobart tasmania but they are outsiders cause of there age and they have got to fight to survive the world of hover car racing
I would recommend this book to everyone who has loves action and adventure books
