In the tradition of faery tales coming horrifyingly true right in the middle of your contemporary life, Ellie is at boarding school while her parents are away on a cruise when weird things start happening to her and around her. Her best mate Kevin has dragged her into helping with a play and is now under the spell of a frighteningly good looking woman, there’s a murderer on the loose stealing eyeballs, the weird kid at school is becoming strangely interesting, and Ellie might just have some magical powers needed to save the world if she can survive long enough to get the hang of them...

This will be a New Zealand classic in the style of Susan Cooper’s The dark is rising series, Raymond E. Feist’s Faerie Tale and Australian classics such as Patricia Wrightson’s Nargun and the stars.
