Grace is a book that wouldn't take very long to read after starting. It portrays values on relgious beliefs and the acceptance a family must take together. You will eventuallly be in for some surprises, as Grace learns how complicated life really is without asking questions and thinking how the world came about.

I have read this book and it is amazing. Words can't describe how great this book was. It was very detailed and emotional and once you read one chapter you just want to keep reading!

Grace is a book about of course, a girl named Grace who has a family of strong religion. Grace has a kind hearted family at first, but, ever since Grace had started doing sins, her family fell apart and her dad became expelled from her church.

This is the best book i have ever read, and this book will surely want you to read more of morris gleitzmans's books.

Grace really manages to pack a punch in not many pages (181). It's funny, strong, sad, and hopeful, but altogether the only way it can be described is amazing. This book is short enough so it can be read by younger kids, but it's anything but simple. This book is a pleaser for everyone.

There are few authors - and even fewer children’s authors – that possess a talent for writing serious stories and wrapping them up in a sweet humour that makes for both a meaningful and simultaneously charming book all at once. One such author with this gift is Morris Gleitzman.

In his novel, Grace, he tells the story of an innocent young girl’s conflict with her religion. Although for most authors this would be a decidedly heavy read, Gleitzman creates something similar to a painting of grave event, done in such vibrant and cheerful colours that make it impossible for it to be sad.

The book itself is about the eponymous character, Grace, who lives a happy life with her mum, dad, and twin brothers in their church community in Australia. Until one day Grace gets in trouble with the church for a harmless school project. An awful event comes as punishment, and gradually Grace begins to see the church in a new light. And so begins her quest to set things right again.

Although the book itself is quite short, as it is written for a younger audience, it packs a surprising amount of humour, excitement, and feeling into just 181 pages. Grace herself is a wonderful character and her innocent way of narrating the events of the book is truly lovely. She goes through life with such hope and determination that she will be an inspiration to even older readers. Her compassion and forgiving spirit never fail throughout the book, and you will find yourself cheering her on all the way.

Grace is truly a gem of a book. It is easy and quick to read, but never feels rushed. Morris Gleitzman weaves a beautiful story with gentle humour that at times had me laughing to myself. The message the book carries is simple, but it is one that many will understand. I would recommend this book to anyone who would enjoy a short, easy-to-read story, but still with plenty of excitement and meaning.

Grace – by Morris Gleitzman

Grace is another fantastic novel from well-known author, Morris Gleitzman. In this novel, a young girl named Grace lives in a community that bonds over their strict religion. In Grace’s religion, touching or being with ‘an outsider’ is considered sinful. So when Grace completes her school project, which is not acceptable according to the Church Elders, she must be punished for her sins. But that is certainly not Grace’s first sin – or the last, and it seems that Grace’s list of sins is constantly becoming longer and gradually the consequences for her sins become worst and worst. But Grace can’t be the only sinner, can she?

I really enjoyed this short novel from one of my favourite authors. Grace is a quick read but extremely difficult to put down once you get into it. For me, Grace’s world was vastly different from the world I live. Whilst reading the story, I always found myself thinking ‘I’ll just read one more chapter’, then after I read another chapter I would be so intrigued to know what happened next that I would just keep reading and reading. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants a quick read and a brilliant story.
