The walled city of Weld is under attck from ferocious flying creatures that raid in the night, bringing death and destruction. The Warden calls for Volunteers to find and destroy the Enemy sending invaders, and the heroes of Weld answer the call one by one, never to return. Rye is oficially too young to go, but his brothers are among the lost and he must find them. What terrors await him beyond the Wall?

The golden door is a Fantasy novel; the themes of the book include journey, friendship, trust and self-confidence. This book has many genres like fantasy, mystery, adventure – (travel) The Golden Door is the first book from the three doors trilogy, the second and third books are called The Silver Door and The Wooden Door.
Rye has lived his whole life behind the great wall of Weld which does little to keep Weld’s citizens safe from ferocious flying beasts called skimmers that raid in the night time of Weld. But when a call is made for volunteering heroes to find and destroy the source of the skimmer attacks, Ryes brothers Dirk and Sholto put their hand up to venture beyond the wall of Weld. When they fail to return Rye the only brother left must follow their steps and venture into a new world full of monsters and savage barbarians.
