Since a horrible accident claimed the lives of her family, sixteen-year-old Ever can see auras, hear people’s thoughts, and know a person’s life story by touch.   Going out of her way to shield herself from human contact to suppress her abilities has branded her as a freak at her new high school—but everything changes when she meets Damen Auguste . . .

Ever sees Damen and feels an instant recognition.  He is gorgeous, exotic and wealthy, and he holds many secrets.  Damen is able to make things appear and disappear, he always seems to know what she’s thinking—and he’s the only one who can silence the noise and the random energy in her head.  She doesn’t know who he really is—or what he is.  Damen equal parts light and darkness, and he belongs to an enchanted new world where no one ever dies.

'Alyson Noel's Evermore 'is a compelling, intriguing novel that will captivate your heart. 16 year old Ever Bloom finds herself  completely different to the person that she used to be. The old Ever consisted around popularity, having the  quarter- back boyfriend and the typical twin bestfriend. Ever had it all...until one tragic car accident takes the life of her parents, her precious tail-wailing 'Buttercup' and her haunting sister Riley. Ever wants to hide from the world and just induldge in her cranked up i-pod and baggy hoodies. Until one day a heart-breakingly, inhunmanly, stunning new guy comes to her school. Could Damen be dangerous because of  the things he knows about Ever? Or is it destiny? Ever is taken on a roller-coaster ride of love, loss and heart-break. This can only be defined by how you view this novel but in my own opinion love can come in many shapes, size and form. Damen tests Ever in a way no one ever has in a life time. He can take away all her worries. The fact that she can read everyones thoughts with just one touch of the hand, his hand can tune her away from all of their thoughts. Damen is desired by many women, even Ever's bestfriend Haven the obsessive cupcake eater and not to mention Miles who prefers the 'Damen kind of bakery'. 'Evermore' is riveting and so realistic you can just picture Damen in your mind when you close your eyes and Ever's beautiful, silky blonde hair with those blue eyes can make you want to be in her postion. Only Ever can be the detective to her own heart.

This first book in the Immortals series really is amazing.  The main character, Ever, is easy to realate to because she has many flaws and is a realistic teenager.  The storyline with her sister, Riley, is very interesting, and the Noel has presented death and afterlife is very interesting and it is well played-out.

I must say that overall Noel's characterisation is amazing.  Her characters are very defined, and they are very realistic... you know, other than the immortal characters, haha.

Overall, a very amazing book :)
