Danzi is not quite 1000 years old. He’s a youngster in dragon terms.
His old and infirm Dragonkeeper has just died. The dragon is sad at his friend’s passing, but also looking forward to some solo adventures.
There is much unrest in the world of men. The states that will eventually merge to become the Chinese Empire are at war. Danzi’s plans for a peaceful visit to a friend in the south soon go awry.
I was impressed by this book from the very first sentence. Carole Wilkinson is such a talented writer, she describes the sceneries in this book so beautifully it makes me smile. It was great to read about Danzi's life prior to Dragon Keeper, I just wish the book could have been longer.
After reading the first book, I was surprised to see that there was an introduction book! I loved reading it and learning more about Danzi was fascinating. Highly recommended.
