Dear Papa

The book takes place in the family home of 9 year old isabelle it is the year 1943 two year before WW2 is ending.This affects the book because they are put in situations with hitler and the nazis  The main characters include 9 year old isabelle,her papa,and her mother and aunt Izzy.My favorite character is isabelle because she is bright person she kind of lives in her own world and has very close friendships with all people she knows.The major problem is when isabelle and her family have to separate because they can no longer afford to live together the problem is solved once the war is over because they gain more money and are no longer in fear of hitler and the nazis.the theme of the book is a diary entry it is really good because it continues over a long period of time. i personally liked the end of the book it showed how isabelle had grown up and matured but still has the little thing different about her there.I think other people would enjoy this book because it is set in the war time but not very violent and is different to books such as the boy in the stripe pajamas.I would defiantly read another book bye this author she is really creative and keeps your interest the whole way through the book.
