Clary Fray just wishes that her life would go back to normal. But what's normal when you're a demon-slaying Shadowhunter and your mother is in a magically induced coma? The Shadowhunting world isn't ready to let her go -- especially her handsome, infuriating, newfound brother, Jace. And Clary's only chance to help her mother is to track down rogue Shadowhunter Valentine, who is probably insane, certainly evil -- and also her father.

The Mortal Instruments 2: City of Ashes By Cassandra Clare

This is the second book in the gripping Mortal Instruments series. In the first book Clary Fray finds out that her mother was once part of a hidden and paranormal world and that by blood she is one of the society of demon killers called Shadowhunters. This magical world does not only contain Shadowhunters, it also contains Wherewolves, Vampires, Faeries and Warlocks and all of these are put into the catergory of Downworlders. But unfortunatly this world has one more group of creatures and these are demons. All of the creatures in this society are living in the human world hiding out or disguising themselves. Once Clary comes to terms with this her and her new friends and fellow Shadowhunters Isabelle, Alec and Jace set out to find one of the The Mortal Instruments (these are magical items) before an evil Shadowhunter Valentine does. Through all the twists and turns of the book in the end Clary and Jace discover that they are both the children of Valentine and Jocelyn who was origianaly only known as Clarys mother. Valentine gets away with the Mortal Instrument and Clary and Jace find that he has been hiding their Mother and that she is in a terrible state where she will not wake up. In the second book Clary and Jace the now known sibling have to hold back the love they have felt since the first time they met, save their Mother and find Valentine before he can get to the second Mortal Instrument. The Mortal Instruments is an intense, deadly and darkly humorous series I would recomend to fans of the Hunger Games and Uglies series and others who like suspence and violence in books.

Clary (this is the second book)who discovers her secret ability, is still trying to wake up her mum and is battling for her life in every chapter of the way.

The best part of this book was...
everything. This book is great. Better than the Twilight series. Yeah. Think about it. I would give this book a 6/5, but there aren't six stars to colour in.
This book is similar to...
the Twilight series (yeah, they're kinda the same, but this is better)
The best place to read this book is...
anywhere, although, you might want to read it in private. You may cry a bit.
The soundtrack of this book should be...
really fast and upbeat. I had a song, but now it's gone. I'm a goldfish.

Second installment to the Mortal Instruments series !
We follow Clary Fray through her shadow hunting world, again.
With more Drama than an episode of Days of our life!

The best part of this book was...
Simon, he is hilariously witty!!
This book is similar to...
The first book, city of bones, Urban fantasy and any Twilight fans!
The best place to read this book is...
As I said about City of Bones, inside away from all the nasty things, except if you live on a boat, get off the boat as soon as you can to read it!
The soundtrack of this book should be...
lots of different music, one song I would have to include though is Lullaby by the Spill Canvas.
