Camel Rider is a simple book about two peole from entirely different worlds who meet in the desert.

Abudai is a fictional city based in the Middle East everything is perfect for Adam while for Walid its the complete oposite, Adam is treated with care and his worst nightmare is not being alowed to leave the compound he lives in except for school whereas Walid's worst nightmare comes true when he and his mother had to leave Bangladesh only to be separated with no way to communicate. Walid is forced to live on th outskirts of town in the desert as a child slave, a camel rider to be beaten black and blue with no one to help him, no one to talk to, But then it happens the city is under attack Adam runs away due to his stupidity and stubborness he finds himself in the desert with very little food, very little water and a boy he found tied up named Walid. Strugguling to understand each other and at times wanting to kill each other they survive in the desert and become friends in the strangest way possible they end up in Adams compound and the best thing in the world happens to Walid.

This novel is about two completely different boys learning that everyone lives a different life. The story is set in a fictional town in the middle east called Abudai. At the start of the book Adam (one of the main charachters) and his family were living a happy life. Just out side his city a young boy called Walid is living in a camp, as he was sold as a child to be a camel rider. Then diaster srikes! A war has come to Abudai. Adam has to leave home and soon gets lost in a desert and comes across Walid who was left in the desert to die. The boys have an amazing adventure trying to suvive the scorching sun and sand with no food or water.

Through out the book the two boys learn about each other and their cultural differences. This story is about friendship, culture and survival.

“Camel Rider” by Prue Mason is an adventurous and action packed story.

Camel Rider begins with two boys who meet on the middle of the desert. Throughout their journey there are some places, Walid and Adam looking to get back too, but they are on a very dangerous journey that the boys have to keep a look out for themselves.

My favorite part of the book is when the two boys try to communicate with each other but they don’t know how to because they speak different languages and they can’t understand each other’s.

I like this book because it’s mainly about adventure and friendship. I would recommend this to anyone aged 13 onwards.

Camel Rider by Prue Mason is a story of adventure, survival and friendship.

Adam and his family live in a compound with other foreigners who work in the Middle East. He gets everything he wants and needs and he takes a lot of things for granted. Both his parents are on a trip when a war breaks out in Abudai. He runs away into the dessert and is all alone, friendless and in danger but then he meets Walid and they both try to escape from the dangers around them.

My favorite part is when Walid does his stunts and escapes Old Goat and Breath-of-Dog. It sounded like Adam under-estimated Walid when he first saw him but he was eventually surprised at Walid’s skills.

I recommend this book to anyone who likes stories of adventure, especially teenage boys because there are a lot of action-packed parts of the story that boys would enjoy.
