Boy Meets Boy

Author:  David Levithan

This is the story of Paul, a sophomore at a high school like no other: The cheerleaders ride Harleys, the homecoming queen used to be a guy named Daryl (she now prefers Infinite Darlene and is also the star quarterback), and the gay-straight alliance was formed to help the straight kids learn how to dance.

When Paul meets Noah, he thinks he’s found the one his heart is made for. Until he blows it. The school bookie says the odds are 12-to-1 against him getting Noah back, but Paul’s not giving up without playing his love really loud. His best friend Joni might be drifting away, his other best friend Tony might be dealing with ultra-religious parents, and his ex-boyfriend Kyle might not be going away anytime soon, but sometimes everything needs to fall apart before it can really fit together right.

Boy Meets Boy is a charming and funny read, following Paul (an openly gay high-school student) from an incredibly open and accepting American town (it’s almost utopian in terms of its tolerance). Unlike the majority of LGBT YA fiction I’ve read, this isn’t so much of  a coming-out story, as it is a teen romance (complete with love triangles, epic romantic gestures and prom). There is also one of the most fabulous characters (ok, maybe tied with Tiny Cooper), Infinite Darlene, who if nothing else does, will put a smile on your face. Boy Meets Boy is sweet, quirky and slightly heartbreaking but highly-recommended.

Boy Meets Boy is about gay teen Paul, his friends and relationships. Paul has always known he was gay and lives in a very accepting community, the same cannot be said for his friend Tony who's parents are very religious and do not accept him being gay. Paul meets Noah and there is a spark between them immediately, Paul just has to try not to mess it up.

About a homosexual boy who lives in a town where everyone is accepted and gay people are seen as more 'normal' than straight people. The story is about the many relationships revolving around the main character Paul.

The best part of this book was...
That its written pretty much in the reverse of the world we live in. Pretty much no one has any prejudices in this story and everyone is treated with dignity and accepted for who they are and who they like.
This book is similar to...
Reading with an open mind. I haven't read many books base on homosexual relationships but it really was very good.
The best place to read this book is...
Ummmm... my bed. Just because I like my bed.
The soundtrack of this book should be...
Anything YOU like. After all this book is all about accepting and living the things that make you happy.
