I read this book during the school holidays, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. The book is an auto biography of Gerald Durrell’s childhood day at the start of age ten living in the islands of Corfu in Greece. In the book Gerald meets strange people who live close. He finds and t6ake care of exotic animals. While still having to live with his family, older sister Margo, Obsessed with books Older Brother Larry, Mad with guns Leslie, his Widowed Mother and his always favourite pet dog Roger.

Together The family has wild adventures it is hard to believe the stories are true, I recommend the book to all ages as it is amusing, packed full of adventure and has some handy lessons in them, So definitely recommend it.
