Hey Everyone!
Here is the next article on having a creative mind and imagination! The next article will be on Creating Believable Characters and will be on in the next 2 weeks!
Having a creative imagination is the key tool for authors. It can help with writers block, and coming up with your own unique story ideas. Although, coming up with story ideas and inspiration is entirely up to you, I have put together a few ideas to get your imagination up and running.
#1 Reading. When you read you activate your mind. You can imagine. It can help you with ideas, just remember not to copy authors work.
#2 Free writing is a form of writing where you write whatever comes to mind without worrying about grammar. For more info on free writing see Rebekahs article on Free Writing (September 2010) at the writing help page.
#3 Journaling can help you get inspiration from the things you do every day. Carry around a small notebook and pen and fill it in with anything that you find inspirational, from song lyrics, to poems, quotes, sketches and more.
#4 Experiment. Try different styles of writing. Use new words. Try writing exercises, which brings me to suggestion.........
#5 the next few things I write are some writing exercises you can try.
· Favourite words. On a piece of paper write down all of your favourite words. Any word. Help to expand your creativity. Or you can write then on sticky notes and stick them where you can see them every day.
· Write any word that comes to mind in a continuous spiral without spaces. Try getting 100 words. Once you’re done, read out the big long word in 3 times. This will exercise and loosen up you tongue, jaw and cheeks as well as your mind.
Last of all I would like to recommend the book “RIP THE PAGE” by Karen Benke. It is full of writing exercises to help bring out your creative side.

Here is the first writing help article. ENJOY;
Finding Time to Write
For any writer, finding the time to write is quite difficult. Everybody is really busy nowadays with work, school, home chores, etc, that making the time to write can be challenging.
Also, when we do have spare time, we tend to jump on the computer or turn on the TV or PlayStation.
There are of course a few ways to make time. One easy way to make a bit of time would be when you are about to check your emails for the 10th time that day, or beat your high score on the Wii, pull out your latest project instead. Try to set yourself a time for computer, TV, or video games and writing time. Perhaps you could say “Writing after school on a Tuesday, then TV, afterwards.” Something like this can work well.
Another way you could find more time is to try making a deal with your parents to stay up later, so that you have more time to work on you writing. As long as you are still getting enough sleep though.
A tough one to overcome is school. Not only does it take up 6 hours a day, 5 days a week, but then there are assignments, studying and homework to complete also. Try setting your school work time in with your writing and leisure time.
Over all, try not to make excuses for yourself, because if you have the time, use it!
