What Book Scared You So Much You Weren't Able To Sleep That Night (or you did, but had nightmares)
I remember being totally freaked out by the bit with the Black Riders in the Fellowship of the Ring.
Oh, and Del Del, by Victor Kelleher. Scariest book ever.
I read all about Psycho on the net, then couldn't take a shower without locking the door for weeks. Ever read Coraline? It grossed me out, and scared me. Nice combo.
i read the book 'Whispering to witches' i read the fist chapter and could not sleep all night. It was not even that scary when i think back to it but, anything would seem scary in the nightime
the first time i read Guts by Chuck Palahniuk i threw up, i guess that isn't really being scared by a book it just sort of suprised me it's rather graphic. But Chuck Plahniuk is in my opinion the best author ever. =]
it was late at night and i was tired but persisted in my dedication of reading one chapter of lotr a night(it is my 6th time reading them) and the barrow whites and orcs scare me. i had a dream later on that ring wraiths were chasing me and i missed the buckleberry ferry.NOT GOOD! i hate being chased, i once wet my pants whilst being chased by a normal person so imagine what being chased by a ring wraith would do.
p.s i adopted the persona of pippin in that dream
I read Hitlers daughter. It's great but really kinda scary. It's about a man called Hitler he starts wars and killes Jewish people. Hitler has a daughter and she is sort of disable, she has a red birth mark on her face and one leg is longer than the other. The book is about Hitler's daughter's life (Heidi). Heidis life is full of planes with bombs after Heidi and Hitler. I strongly recomend this book to people in year 5 and above, if you're any younger it would really scare you!
Victor Kellhor's Del-Del and there's this book called the gathering, I can't remember the author but it really disturbed me. Horror fans will love these books.
Lol. Wow, i have about 50 of the goosbumps books. They didnt freak me out at all, but another book by R.S.Stine freaked me and gave me nightmares 4 a while, its called Nightmare or something. Try it...
Well, there was Know All by Paul Jennings. THE FREAKY SCARECROW REALLY SCARED ME!!!!!
Definitely "And then there were none" by Agatha Christie. I love all her books, but this one was particularly creepy and scary and absolutely BRILLIANT.
I donno if the ring and the Grudge are books but i reallly really got freaked out AND still am form the images!!!!!!
Mad, Bad and Totally Dangerous. by Susan Davis.
It looked like a nice, light read. It was about a poet. The title didn't suggest anything other than a nice "light, girl" book. I forgot the phrase "never judge a book by it's cover".
Because I wasn't expecting it, I hadn't braced myself for the dead women calling for her long, lost child. Those words were the last words I read before I drifted off to sleep. All night long I heard Agnes calling... it was so creepy.
But, it turned out to be a really good book, when I finished it in broad daylight.
Edgar Allen Poe stories. there was one about this dead guy with a black tongue. OMG yyyeeeuuk!! And the chamber in Harry was a bit on the scary side too. But Edgar Allen Poe scared me. You might know his poem The Raven "Quoth the raven, never more". Oh and HG Lovecraft gets scary too.
Same... i was only little, and i had to stop to go to bed and i was in the chamber part...it was scary..i didn't sleep very well that night:)
Jaws..i was stupid.. i stayed up almost all night reading it.. dreampt about sharks all night and it took me months to be able to swim at the beach again...
Anything by Stephen King - I had to stop reading them because I was having nightmares. I can't read anything supernatural, I start worrying about seeing dead people.
I reckon that the Goosebumps Books by R.L. Stine were a little scary... most of the books weren't scary, and you could laugh at their feeble attempt. But, there was one, with Garden Gnomes in it, and ever since then, I haven't been able to look at a Garden Gnome without getting scared, and panicky... My imagination is a little wild. It was called "Revenge of the Garden Gnomes"... and I don't think it would scare me now... but, back then...
The 'After Dark' books. I should have read them before dark but... I didn't.
They were SCARY!
