Reading: cool or not?
i love reding! i thinl i would go mad without my books!
but what i HATE is bad books. they annoy me more that anything!

I've always loved reading.. But im the only person in my whole family who reads, so sometimes, yeh i do feel like a nerd.. but once im inside those pages all those feelings go away and its like im a different person anyway!
Reading is definatly cool
then dont read when u get home!!! DUH!! its not our fault u dont enjoy reading at home!!!
I reckon reading is cool, but people (other people who don't read) will only agree with you if you read "cool books". I mean, if you read long, classicals, your class mates won't think it's cool... but if you're reading a book like princess diaries, or a book about boys, they won't think it's un-cool. (doesn't necessarily mean they'll think it's cool either though...)
No offence people, but of course everyone on this site is gonna think reading is cool.. Its like going to a Star Trek convention and saying "Hey guys, do you like Star Trek?"

kindda depends if the books not non-fiction or mature mature, really mature books. If it was a funny book then definitely
Enjoyed reading all your comments. We would not be unique if we all liked the same things so I have to say there is nothing wrong with prefering TV to reading. I do both because they are two totally different art forms and I enjoy them both equally. Reading... I create the images; watching... I am seeing someone else's spin on a topic which makes me question things. If we didn't question things the world would be stagnant.

It Depends what type of book your reading but there are some people who think reading is lame but overall i think its cool
I think that raeding is a great way to learn about the world we live in know. I think that it is also good to read becuase you get so interested and you cant get the book down. Reading is a good way to forget about your problems that you may encounter in your life. Reading is good because everyone no matter what age you are can read even little kids can just look at the pictures. I think that we should open more libaries so that kids can always read and get books for projects. :P

I think that reading is cool, but it really does depend on what sort of book you are reading and if you like it. BULLDOGSROCK I DISAGREE with you and Lucy, when you are on the computer, you are reading, when you are watching TV you are reading everywhere you are you are most likely reading. reading is always kool. i agree that people who read (especially cute guys) are sexy, coz it makes them look intelligent, and you want to get to know them bettet.
Reading is cool becouse you can sit down and read a book when ever you want.

I would be lost without reading.
I read to get away from the hectic and sometimes scary world we live in and just to find comfort. To just be able to lose yourself in another world, even if is written in our world, it's like you've become someone else and not you.
Reading it very cool: it opens up worlds to us beyond the one we're experiencing. Books are a constant- they can be there no matter what is going on in your life and who is/n't around. You can find yourself in books and feel like you've made a connection.
Books are portable, easy to obtain, and there's always something for everyone, regardless of personal likes or circumstance. Reading is like having a freedom no one can steal from you.
And people who read are sexy.
I find after a day of school's work a book is all I need to get me calmed down!!
I love reading! whenever im not in a good mood, a good bood cheers me up. I just got glasses and that does NOT mean i'm a nerd. (i basically got glasses because I read in the dark, whoops!!) You gain so much knowledge from just one book!

There has always been a stereotype "nerd", someone with red hair, freckles and glasss who loves reading. Well, I enjoy school and I LOVE reading and I have brown hair and i don't have glasses!!
reading is cool and sooo much fun u relax if u read, and learn stuff without thinking about it
Reading is awesome. It can keep me occupied for the whole day. I have so manhy books to read but i just keep borrowing books from my school library anyway. I love that you have your own imagination when you're reading. You can make up in your mind how the characters look or how the settings look whereas in a movie, it's all just there and you have no imagination to explore.
Reading AND writing are two of my faveourite things to do, of course, I also love talking to my friends about books, that's fun too!
I don't thing there's a question of whether reading is cool or not, of course it is! Lots of my friends read ALOT including me and we've all got prety big vocabularies, can spell quite well, can write well, speak well, etc. But it's not just the academic side of it, it's FUN and keeps your brain more active than if you were watching people living together in a house talking about nothing in particular! People who read a lot are less likely to become zombies (people who sit infront of the tv all day and watch whatever happens to be on).
Of course it's cool...you can learn so much stuff, and enjoy yourself at the same time. And I love the way you can escape to a different world at the turn of a page. That's cool..
i love this site! snd books are kool and even thought it seems UNKOOL to it isnt i meen wat is better being smart and knowing how to read or being silly and not know how to read?
reading at school is ok but then when you go home from a stressfull day of schoolwork its is so iratating and frustrating!!!
'Course it is. you learn so much from reading. it is a world within a world like TV but in your own hands, at your own pace, out of your selection. There is a great deal of freedom in reading... and writing, of course.
Pretty damn fine that I can lay around on the lounge and chill out without someone suggesting to me that I should be doing something else! (study, work, etc)
