A Couple of AWESOME Girls Who Like Books
There isn't a Second World War post today, but I did want to say a big thank you to all those who have battled their way through the, um, quirky commenting system here to add their opinion or ask a question. I think I've now responded to everyone, but if I've failed to answer a question of yours, just add another comment here. If you're reading this on the Residence page, you might not even know that there are any comments here, but just click on the title of any post (for example, this post's title is 'A Couple of AWESOME Girls Who Like Books') and scroll down. Keep in mind that if you're not logged in (and you don't have to log in to comment), your comment will appear to be by 'Anonymous', so you might like to add an initial or a nickname at the end of your comment.
Today's painting is by the American artist, Harry Wilson Watrous, and I like it because it reminds me of Sophie and Veronica FitzOsborne. I kind of hate the title, though - 'Just a Couple of Girls' - so I am hereby re-naming it 'A Couple of AWESOME Girls Who Like Books'.

Hey girls, Check out my book club Chick flicks 4 U! It is definatley for girls who, like in this painting, love to read. I also invite Michelle ( Cooper ) to my club as a special thank you for showing us this beautiful painting. The more members the more FUN! Thanks girls!
Thanks for all your comments, Araminta, Platypus and Andrea!
And yes, I like that background (wallpaper?), too - it looks as though the fish is listening to the story she's reading.
I much prefer your re-naming. These two are almost exactly as I imagined Veronica and Sophie as well, except I thought of Sophie as having lighter hair.
Thanks for creating this (to quote Colonel Stanley-Ross) formidable family!

Yea, it is a bit....quirky. But no worries. That picture is lovely! Thanks for posting!
